Kansas
Oh, I have walked in Kansas
Through many a harvest field,
And piled the sheaves of glory there
And down the wild rows reeled:
Each sheaf a little yellow sun,
A heap of hot-rayed gold;
Each binder like Creation's hand
To mould suns, as of old.
-Vachel Lindsey.
Yesterday, came back from NCDCC CLT ATC at Pulau Ubin. I must say that the pass three days at the camp was very tiring. It started in the morning on monday. On monday, we pitched our tents, did jetty jump, raft building and kayaking. IT was quite a tiring day, well, a very tiring one actually. in between the sessions, we had tekan sessions and many other funny things too. On the second day, we did low elements first, followed by abseiling and rock climbing. We had our much needed lunch before proceding to our high elements. I must say, I am the very few people who did all the challenges that are there. The most memorable will be the flying fox. It is infact the highest flying fox in Singapore, going at about 7 stories high. It was very fun. But tiring nevertheless. At the end of it all, we had to do up a campfire for our last night and our GOH was LTC Lim Kah Seng. ha! It was quite a failure for the campfire as there were only about 20+ people when all the instructors were added in. Well, it ended early cause the commandant wanted to go off earlier due to the impending rain. After that, at night, ME and my other tent mates slept in the canteen due to the invasion of ants in our tent. Well, it was very comfortable to sleep in the canteen, dun know y but I felt shoik in the morning. haha. Finally, the last day, we unpegged our tents and cleaned them up. After that, we had a group photo before we were on our way home to Singapore! We marched our way out of camp singing songs that I had just learned and were dismissed at Changi Jetty. Finally, I'm on my way home. IT was very tiring. well. Went to school today dispite my sun burnt hands and face. But school was fun today. ha
